Emily + Chris: A Wedding at The Wickliffe House in the Heart of Charleston

Emily + Chris said their vows at the historic Wickliffe House, located in the heart of Charleston, followed by an outdoor reception under the stars. The day couldn't have been more perfect and lovely, and you'll see what we mean as you take a look at some of the highlights from their day...

“We tried to keep the style or theme of our wedding simple. We incorporated certain things throughout our wedding that were unique such as boiled peanuts during the reception, and bourbon and cigar bar at the reception. However, everything else was simple in order to create a relaxed environment where everyone could have fun.”

“We met and exchanged numbers at “Brick” in Charleston ,SC. I actually called him a week later, and we then met each other out along with some of our friends, and began dating soon after. We spent the next better part of 6 years mostly apart. Chris moved to Telluride, CO, and then I briefly joined in in Richmond, Va before starting Physician Assistant school outside Charlotte, NC. After PA school, I moved back to Charleston, SC and Chris followed almost 1 year later. The following year, Chris began building a home and was taking me on a tour of the construction, and had spray painted “ Will you marry me?” on the second floor. It was a complete surprise! No fancy dinner afterwards to celebrate- In Chris and I’s fashion, we went for nachos and beer of course.”

“Most memorable moments would include visiting with family and friends and the speeches were also incredibly touching. The few moments Chris and I had alone taking pictures were also very special moments. And of course, our fur babies getting to come take pictures with us!”
