When we're not photographing weddings on the weekends, one of our favorite things to do is going out to see our favorite artists perform live in concert. This past weekend we had the opportunity to see the incredible Sarah Jarosz (with the amazing Mark Schatz and Jedd Hughes) at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir, NC. We're so thankful to have had the chance to meet these guys!
“Jarosz is a multi-Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who hails from just outside of Austin, Texas and makes her home in New York City. Still in her early 20s, she graduated in 2013 from New England Conservatory with a degree in contemporary improvisation in the same month her third album, Build Me Up From Bones, was released. Jarosz, who fits comfortably where contemporary folk, Americana and roots music intersect, has long been embraced for the depth and maturity of her songwriting, her pure and nuanced vocals, and her instrumental mastery. ”
“While still in her early 20’s, Sarah Jarosz, the native of Wimberley, TX, just outside of Austin, has earned her credibility in the world where contemporary folk, Americana and roots music intersect. “In 2015, Jarosz’s focus will be on writing and recording her next album. She is also taking the opportunity to explore various new configurations for performance. One of those special configurations is the I’m With Her Tour with Sara Watkins and Aoife O’Donovan which kicks off with a sold out show at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow in January, then returns for a longer European run in April and May, with select tour dates in the US throughout the summer.”
